Iiris Raipala is dance artist, performer and teacher based in Helsinki. She is as Master of Arts in dance and an art pedagogy. Her interests lie at the intersections of ritual art, dance improvisation, somatic body-mind practices and performance. She has been practicing, teaching contact improvisation for over 25 years, and she is one of the founder of many international CI festivals.

RESTING IN MOVEMENT – BOTH

We will explore movement, touch and connection. We will tune into sensing the natural flow of breathing, resting and moving, our own private space and interacting with others. The work is based on the principles and technique of contact improvisation and other somatic methods.

BODY PUZZLES – CI WORKSHOP – BOTH

In this workshop we are exploring in a playful way how bodies can relate to each other and together form a puzzle. The focus is to explore the state of improvisation and creativity, to emphasize the courage to play and investigate the unknown through the principles of contact improvisation. We will navigate smoothly between solo, duet and group improvisation.
