Iiris Raipala is a dance artist, performer and teacher based in Helsinki. She is Master of Arts in dance  and art pedagogy (Theatre Academy). She has been practicing, teaching and performing contact improvisation for over 20 years, and she is one of the founders of Midnight Sun Contact Festival, Goa Contact Festival and Skiing on Skin Festival.

ALCHEMY OF TOUCH (FIN/ENG) – Dance & Body

This class explores the art of touching as both dance/movement practice and a well-being practice. Through hands-on work we deepen the mover’s journey through accompanying their movement and deepening their experience of the moving body and its possibilities. We will study principles of contact improvisation in solo, duet and  bigger groups.

BODY PUZZLES -CI-WORKSHOP (FIN/ENG) – Dance & Body

We practice sensing our own body  and movement interaction with others, finding softness and fluidity in our movement. We get acquainted with the basic techniques of the contact improvisation such as shared weight, following the point of contact and listening to one’s own boundaries. These skills open up a physically and psychologically safe and inspiring space for danceful encounters. (KIDS FRIENDLY)
