Storyteller and poet Ukko Kärkkäinen turns 70 this spring. He carries nearly forty years of personal experience in working through inherited war trauma. Ukko has offered new perspectives in the treatment of depression and has made significant innovations—such as creating Finland’s first snowboard in 1969 and, in 2024, developing a method that combines two practices to explore the subconscious and the superconscious.
TRAUMOISTA SIELUTIETOISUUTEEN – FIN
This workshop is only in Finninsh,. It is based on visual storytelling and small group sharing in a format reminiscent of an “indigenous-style talking circle.” Together, we’ll embark on a carriage ride to the “Island of Life.” I will share with you the insights I’ve gained over more than forty years of navigating emotional processing through my personal journey of overcoming crisis. You’ll also hear my poetry—and perhaps a new poem will even be born for the festival. You are warmly welcome. ❤️
MIESTEN TUNNEPIIRI – FIN
This workshop for men focuses on the relationship with the mother and father.
We carry inherited burdens passed down from generation to generation.
I will bring with me my original poetry journals, where I once poured the pain of my past with immense intensity. Thankfully, it is possible to survive even the hells of trauma.Today, feel gratitude, deep peace of mind, and joy. Warmly welcome. ❤️
